J Poindexter
I have done many things with my life but the most rewarding of all has been the experience of letting go of the past to become an entrepeneuer. Following a passion for food and cooking, I put my experience and education in business to work learning a new craft and operating my own restaurant. After 10 years, my wife and partner attribute our success to a simple philosophy based on the advice of Julia Child: "This is my invariable advice to people: Learn how to cook- try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless, and above all have fun!"
— Julia Child (My Life in France)
One day, a successful New York restaurateur whom I admired commented on our work while eating his pizza. "You know, I am not really a fan of pizza, but I am a fan of good food, and THIS is good food! You are always trying something new. Everytime I come in there is some new addition to your menu."
It is my passion to create, to learn new things. I believe that life is a journey to be enjoyed rather than endured. Through good times and bad, we have tasted life, it's sweetness and it's bitterness and it has been fun!
I hope you will join me on my journey into the Hub as I explore and share healthy choices for those with diabetes and heart disease. And stay tuned for hubs on starting and running a restaurant, marketing, food safety, and more.
